There are four cardinal gods in Tergie, one for each of the dominant races. There are three original gods, who are acknowledged by all scholars of the history of the gods as the first. Al-Benaut, the Sun, is a man with the head of a raven. His skin is jet black and he has no hair. Myphoth, the Moon, is a khemwur (greater lizard man). Shrem, the Earth, is a dwarf with skin as tough as a rock and gray hair including a thick beard. Seph, the other cardinal god, embodies Chaos. His appearance varies but tends to be some goblinoid form, often with a canine head.
Al-Benaut fathered men, Myphoth the lizardfolk, Shrem carved the dwarves from stone, and Seph brought forth the goblins and gnolls.

Al-Benaut A Cardinal god, Al-Benaut The Strong is the father of humankind.
Myphoth A Cardinal god, Al-Benaut The Strong is the father of humankind.
Shrem A Cardinal god, Shrem The Uncorruptable is the father of dwarvenkind. Shrem is Neutral Good but his creativity gives him a slightly Chaotic outlook.
Seph Youngest of the Cardinal gods, Seph The Dark One claims to have surfaced to make the world less rigid and static. He brought forth the goblins and gnolls. Seph is Chaotic Neutral with a slight tilt toward True Neutral, as he represents a balancing force which is Chaotic by neccessity.
Vaaz Vaaz Of The Fire, father to the popular Ħampet, was the first mortal to ascend to divinity.
Shir Shir Up Above is a hawk riħoo and is occasionally seen with wings.
Wöfet Wöfet Of The Water keeps mostly to herself and tries to leave others to their own business. When she needs to interfere, she has the Great River itself at her command.
Shah'i Mother of Ħampet, Shah'i The Rock has devout followers among smiths of all races.
Arbek Exchanged at birth as part of a cease-fire between the warring factions led by Seph, Al-Benaut, and Myphoth, Arbek The Vile's ancestors were powerful priests of Myphoth while he and his descendents became followers of Seph.
Dorsh'mir Like Arbek, Dorsh'mir was exchanged for peace. Coming from Seph's camp, she was raised by the followers of Al-Benaut. Unlike Arbek, she betrayed her new caretakers and Seph convinced her to seduce and kill Orn.
Orn Orn The Reborn was brought back to life by Upuat and Shah'i after his murder at Dorsh'mir's hands. Orn is Lawful Neutral with more good intentions than not.
Ħampet (this section somehow got lost).
Posek Posek embodies evil to the best of his ability. This often makes him behave quite chaotically, but he knows his bounds.
Upuat Noble student of Seph The Corruptor, Upuat helped revive Orn after his death at the hands of Seph's agent Dorsh'mir. Held in high regard by gnolls (who try to respectfully ignore him), he is much unlike his heritage and benefactor. Upuat is as honorable as they come, Lawful Good but not afraid to put Law ahead of justice.
Pronounciation guide: Ħ and ħ are pronounced as the pharyngeal fricative sound "h!" (like the Hebrew letter h!et, ה, or the Jewish holiday of Ħanukkah). There's more information on funky unicode characters and their meanings at Everything2.
