disclaimer: this is a form for theoretically converting your person into statistics for a GAME.
If you cannot tolerate criticism or being called 'stupid' (among other things) please go away.
Use of this software is subject to the Feckorff licence above and below (and underneath and between the lines). You should therefore carefully review the preceeding/following/etc terms: I grant you as an individual a personal non-exclusive licence to make and use copies of this webpage for the sole purposes of designing, developing, and testing your D&D(R) character(s)...stop reading this.......

The previous version of this site was less elaborate, was not interactive (so no forms/javascript), and was made for D&D 2nd ed.
A few months after coding this page, I stumbled upon another website that features a questionaire that determines your stats: check it out at http://blanchard.virtualave.net/war/dndstats.html.

Additional Feats may apply to various martial artists, fencers, archers, jockeys, athletes, etc. (but notice there aren't any listed that require other feats). Your DM should require you to meet the requirements for each of these feats.

Skills closely linked with hobbies (not your main focus/study) should receive 1 rank per 2 years experience ("cross-class"). Skills closely linked to profession, obsession, or study should receive 1 rank per 1 year experience.

Your ECL, Effective Character Level, should be one for every five years since you started High School (approximately age 14, round nearest then up). This reflects your learning curve more than anything else. Unlike starting play with another race, you start out with experience equal to this age-based ECL. For example, a typical college freshman (age 19) would be ECL 1 ([19yrs-14]/5=1) but begins play with enough experience for a standard human to be on second level. You are otherwise a 0-level human (but no bonus 1st level feat if you already have any), although your DM may allow you to take another race instead (add one and the races ECL to yours, so a 22-year-old could become a drow with an ECL of +4 and one level's worth of experience ([22yrs-14]/5=2,[new body]=1,[drow]=2, 1+1+2=4) or a human with an ECL of +1 with one level of experience ([22yrs-14]/5=2).

As an ECL 0 Human, you get no bonus feat (unless you come in with none) and you cannot have neither Sorceror, Psion, nor Psychic Warrior as your favored class (you are otherwise a standard PHB human). You may choose to be an ECL 1 Human to get that bonus feat (two if you don't have any coming in) and the ability to have Sorceror/Psion/Psychic Warrior as your favored class.
